Great Bay Philharmonic Orchestra (GBPO) is a regional, all-professional orchestra comprised of the finest musicians from throughout New England and beyond.

GBPO made its debut performance at the Music Hall Historic Theatre, Portsmouth, NH on October 20, 2018 performing Rossini’s The Barber of Seville Overture, Bizet’s Symphony in C Major and Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with Paul Dykstra piano soloist and David Upham, conductor.

I thought the orchestra …. was first-rate!

For me the standout section was the violins. Their velvety, beautifully blended tone was among the best I’ve ever heard.

Bruce Adami, Dean Emeritus, New Hampshire Chapter of the American Guild of Organists

Now in its second year, with David Upham continuing in an expanded role as Music Director, GBPO is poised to take its place among the great orchestras of the Northeastern United States.
